Be On Guard

jesus returns

In Mark 13:32-33 Jesus tells us, “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in Heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.  Be on guard!  Be alert!  You do not know when that time will come.”

What is Jesus really trying to teach us here?

Well for one thing, it shows that there are some things God keeps completely to Himself.  God has not shared with Jesus the exact time that He is to come back and reclaim His church.  That is an awesome thought.  This just makes all of the people who claim to know the timing of the end of the world seem all the more foolish doesn’t it?  If Jesus Himself does not know, how could any human?  They can’t!

Second, if you did not know when your parents would be coming back home, that would make it hard to throw a party wouldn’t it?  It sure would.  Jesus wants us to be living as if He could return at any moment.  Do you know why?  Because He could return at any moment, and you do not want to be in the middle of something you should not be when Jesus comes again in the clouds.

Lastly, Jesus wants to remind us never to take a single minute for granted.  We are never guaranteed another second here on Earth.  With that said, if you have never accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, may I ask what you are waiting for?

If you have questions about why you should accept Jesus or even how you do that, then please comment or email me immediately, because again, we are never guaranteed a tomorrow, and an eternity in hell is something I have taken it personally upon myself to help you avoid.

With love,

Pastor Brad Komgenick
